I'm going to jump on the train a little early for @Apoloc.

I would like to bring Welmar back, but I want a few new styles for him before he opens shop again. I'm going to list what his current wares are, and if you have suggestions, post them here or message me in-game. Also, in case you're wondering, those sects that evolved over the year will be getting a beardstache this year as well. I might even poke @Myfanwe about updating Leechwoods to fit her. Suggestions are welcomed!

I believe the competition is happening again this year, not sure if Imperian is putting in for the pool yet as I haven't pestered @Jeremy.

1. The contest begins November 1st, 2014. Anybody wishing to compete in the ‘natural’ mustache category must have a clean shaven picture (holding a sign with the appropriate phrase  posted by 23:59 GMT on November first. (More specifically, when the game turns from November 1st, to November 2nd.)

2. Anyone in the ‘faux mustache’ category is not required to post a ‘before’ picture, and are allowed to join in at any point up until the contest ends on November 30th at 23:59 GMT. (More specifically, when the games turns from November 30th, to December 1st.)

3. Beards are allowed, though will have zero bearing on mustache judgement.

4. All are able to join either category, though obviously if you cannot grow a mustache, stay away from the ‘natural’ category. ‘Faux mustache’ is what you’re looking for.

5. There will be 3 judges in total, to preside over the competition, Apoloc, preferably 1 admin, and one other unbiased individual. 

6. Prior to November 30th contestants will be informed of a new sign to hold with their final picture.

7. Prizes are subject to change.

8. There will be a first, second, and third place prize for each of the two categories. Though possibly only 1st and 2nd for ‘natural’ dependant on number of contestants.

9. Contestants may only take part in one of the two categories, not both. 

 

 

 

Stay tuned later in the month for specific instructions about entry submittal.  The majority of the stricter rules apply to the natural portion of the contest.   Anyone interested can submit their names to me through the forums or through the game, alongside which part they plan to partake in (natural or faux).

As fun as this may or may not be, it's important to highlight that the purpose of Movember is an outreach to promote men's health focussing on types of cancer, mental health, etc. It seems that the signal gets lost in the noise. On November first whether you're sporting that freshly shorn upper lip (baby face) or breaking out the paper mache and construction paper head on over to Movember and drop a donation off. It's not a bad charity, they give something like 80% of their earnings to research.

Since it's @Apoloc 's idea, you can actually make a 'team' when you sign up for Movember and keep track of donations as team Imperian. Then you could wage e-war and see which IRE franchise can raise more money. If we really wanted to up the stakes, coerce the admin @garryn @jeremy @jesse @eoghan @svorai @xuli to donate a % of November's credit sales (plus iron elite) to Movember for research.

I always do a donation to the Movember Australia when I participate in this event. However I really like what Ahkan just suggested and would be happy to do one to the US version in the name of crushing those other IRE games as well as supporting a really great cause.

As Per, it is now Movember via Imperian time. If you're participating in the "real" then you should post your picture by the end of today (Nov 1st) Imperian time, there is a little bit of leeway as it really doesn't matter when you actually shave, so long as its after right now.  

Post your clean shaven picture with the phrase "Cubs World Champs 2015"

As always, women, asians and pre-pubescents taking part in the 'faux' comp have really nothing to do except get your ideas in order and be prepared to post pics at the end of the month.

In the event the 'real' comp has an unsatisfactory amount of participants, the competitions will be combined and draw from one single prize pool, as opposed to separate.  So unless you real men want to share prizes with a bunch of women with paper mustaches, you better get that hippy shit on your lip or you'll be doomed to compete against contestants with boobs.

Hi Everyone!

So I have recently set up a Movember team through the site that @Ahkan provided. I literally just finished setting up, to the point where I haven't even been able to make my own donation just quite yet.

As a note, this is through -ME- not through the company. I am using "Imperian" as our team name, so it's easier to find, I did get permission from @Jeremy to use this as our team name, but please be aware, this is coming from myself. So any questions you can poke me. Hopefully I'll be able to answer them.

There is a worldwide button on the bottom that allows you to select your Country, but it seems fairly limited. If you wish to donate through the team and for some reason you require an American zipcode I can pull up a few for you. (Is that cheating?)
