(C): Kunew, "A shardfall and not having to fight.”
(C): You, "Why would you like that?”
(C): Kunew, "Simple. I don't like fighting.”
(C): You, "You mean you dislike losing?”
(C): You, "Or are you saying you dislike losing and winning equally.”
(C): Kunew, "Djen. I don't fight.”
(C): You, "If I said to you, you'll win 100% of the time you fight, would you?”
(C): Kunew, "Nope.”
(C): You, "How about 90%?”
(C): Kunew, "If Im goign to say no to 100% winning why would I say yes to less?”
(C): You, "Because pride.”
(C): You, "I should have opened the bargaining with 90%.”
(C): You, "Heh.”
(C): Kunew, "My pride is not to do with fighting.”
(C): You, "On the contraire.”
(C): You, "Your non fighting speaks volumes about your pride."
(C): You, "In either direction.”
(C): You, "I don't mean it's a bad thing, it's just not logically cohesive.”
(C): Kunew, "Now your just confusing me.”
(C): You, "I know.”
(C): Kunew, "Let me guess. your confusing yourself?”
(C): Kunew, "And trying to cover it up?”
(C): You, "No.. here is the logic flow... If you don't fight, it's because (a) losing or winning makes no difference to you, OR (b) you don't like losing. Unless there is a (c) I don't know.”
(C): Kunew, "(c) just do not fight because pacifist.”
(C): Kunew, "And I am c.”
(C): You, "What is a pacifist, really? Someone who doesn't fight, because they don't fight? That's circular logic.”
(C): You, "A pacifist has a :reason: not to fight.”
(C): You, "What's yours?”
(C): Kunew, "My reason is personal.”
(C): Iolaus, "May I ask you two to take that to tells? I am sure the city doesn't need to hear about Djen's useless attempt to get Kunew to fight.”
(C): You, "Your tone is very derogatory.”
(C): Kunew, "At least someone sees the uselessness of it heh.”
(C): You, "Iolaus.”
(C): You, "Anyway."
(->): Iolaus, "Some people aren't able to fight simple as that (( some may lag or don't have a system setup ))” <-- said to the person who gives out free stuff
(<-): Iolaus, "// those aren't reasons to abhor fighting, I fight with a lag of 300 ms each day.”
Here's the thing though: encourage people to not-pk = Might as well go play a MUSH somewhere else. I'm not encouraging people to be PK-hungry like Septus, I just want people to be honest about why they don't 'fight' aka 'play this game'.
Someone's got to be honest, even brutally so, with players who avoid conflict, because the game isn't what it was, compared to even just 18 months ago.
It's not scary to PK.
There's no reason to be afraid of dying.
It's even easier to string together an offence these days.
"Pacificists" may not be the reason why the game is quiet (think about that), but they sure don't contribute to any 'global' atmosphere of challenge, excitement or entertainment.
That's just it. Some people don't play the same way you do. There is a some maniac in WoW who has leveled to maxlevel only via herb gathering and mining. He never left the starting newbie area for the pandas. I would never do that, but hey, that's how he wants to spend his time.
You're not being the guy who drops the hard truths that no one wants to hear and are gonna change everyone's worldview with your brash insights. You're just being Khizanlite and trying to prettying it up with halfass justifications. At least Khizan will just be come out and say it and not drag it out over ct and try to browbeat them into doing something they don't want to do. He just thinks they're beneath his worry and moves on.
Maybe they like to have mudsex. Maybe they like to bash, maybe they just like to log in to bs with their friends in a glorified chatroom. Maybe they like to PK. Maybe they just log in to run shops and design clothing. I dunno.
But frankly, what you think should be done with my playtime doesn't factor into my entertainment decisions. And frankly, its stuff like this that makes the game quiet. No one wants to feel pressured to do something, let them make their own decisions.
Or you know...post on the forums and pat yourself on the back for some sick burnz on the little pve/pacifist carebearzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Ha! Are -all- the IREs going down this route to kill pk? You all should read Achaea's forums right now. It's become one of the largest whining fests you've ever seen.
PK is what makes these games engaging. You don't even lose xp here! Fighting isn't a big deal because you lose nothing but curatives (I think?).
...I can just picture being in some important meeting and my phone blowing up because Septus and Mathiaus are going back and forth trying to capture a monolith
“We abjure labels. We fight for money and an indefinable pride. The politics, the ethics, the moralities, are irrelevant."
...I can just picture being in some important meeting and my phone blowing up because Septus and Mathiaus are going back and forth trying to capture a monolith
Quick, someone kill something so I can see it in action!

Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
You have lost the anti-weapon field defence.
Celestine is attempting to control the monolith at A barren rock glade!
You place your hands on the monolith and begin to concentrate on imbuing it with the essence of your aspect.
"On the battlefield I am a god. I love war. The steel, the smell, the corpses. I wish there were more. On the first day I drove the Northmen back alone at the ford. Alone! On the second I carried the bridge! Me! Yesterday I climbed the Heroes! I love war! I… I wish it wasn’t over."
My favorite is how Iniar declares all out total war on AM and in the space of like 5 news posts we're killing other stuff instead and Sevienn and some Justicar trainees are the only casualties

‘Every sword’s a weight to carry. Men don’t see that when they pick ’em up. But they get heavier with time.”
