  • Ultrix, most players would now have 3 orgs they could try to get into instead of two, basically, with their current prof. I still think it will end badly for the other reasons I said above, though.

And yeah, there a crap ton of profs, al…
  • ^^^I agree so much, but I have a feeling it was discussed and the answer was "(enough) people will scream bloody murder and have a tantrum if we don't leave some circle specific classes" in Improving Imperian Split: Shifting Focus Comment by Jules August 2016
  • He means like, unless I am hellbent on playing Templar, I can try to go to Magick or Demonic cities, and still have access to nearly all classes. It does sort of work, although, I still feel like there are going to be huge internal power struggles …
  • For the record, all of my rambling essays have been here. :( So far. But hey, someone else out there writes rambling essays! Hit me…
  • That's fair. Kind of. Robust for me would be like... one of those sects is still almost certainly the biggest, but I would like to see the sects meaningfully complement each other within a circle, and also not horrifically gimp any non-power playe…
  • What was so special about War or Wrath? I wasn't here for them.

I feel like entities should do cool guest appearance stuff like Urzog did. I don't really want them to be around all the time and get too close to players, but entities h…
  • Sometimes I honestly wish we could satisfy the people who want Gods and (a very particular brand of) "RP" without actually having to DEAL with Gods and old school, very rigid RP. And everything that seems to come with both of those things
  • I figure something like Templar will get a less AM-ish look for example, and you can do unique loyals where applicable, but doing a full 60 prof skins on top of everything else would be a big project yes. Players helping out might really help. It …
  • The neutral classes should help a lot with that. I really hope they eventually make ALL of classes neutral, for that exact reason.

Imperian has a HELL of a lot going for it in so many areas. It's why I came over and spent WAY more $$$ …
  • That sounds... much more realistic. That's pretty fair.
  • You guys are JUST starting though. Achaea is new and fun and exciting, and has PEOPLE (I wholeheartedly agree with this being a lot of the problem, and also, the solution). Iluv has been doing some spars...

I mean, I get what you are sa…
  • Does Vanilla have a functionality that could allow posters to respond to posts/threads, but ONLY admin would be able to see those posts? I really do want to mostly stop using forums, or at least, I want to stop using them publicly for most topics t…
  • I don't know about that. There is a whole tier of Achaea that is unbelievably stacked. Like, "I have played this game since I was 15 and now I have a pretty good job and this is still my obsession" stacked. And their fights are actually bigger. …
  • I feel like the rule of thumb for all such things in these games to keep in mind would sound something like "Unless it is -actually- impossible, someone will do it" (to get 900 health, or 250+ rapiers through old forging, or anything else that no re…
  • I feel like ring deals with a lot of that. And just about anyone who is going to go do stuff that requires coordination is going to end up in a ring.

But seriously, if there were just 3 orgs in the game, two of them could very well end…
  • All of those things about players are true. So true.

Even so, just consolidate circles, not because you're caving to players kicking and screaming about "mah rank", "mah authoritah" (as true as all of that is), but for a totally differen…
  • I mean, I was just clarifying that we're not just "that one D & D jerk", and that there are actual reasons for what has happened. What did you really expect when you make a post painting an entire faction in such dismissive terms with your unin…
  • (Quote) Maegohr, I actually tend to lean against player leadership having as much control over things (storylines being only one of those things) as they actually do, but in all fairness, all of the times that Antioch was "the bad guy" it was lite…
  • Can we just publish the team lists? People are asking about my team. I want to know who is on their teams. Everyone clearly wants to know who is on what teams for planning purposes, and I don't want to play "I know something you don't know" or "s…
  • I will be honest, I am just assuming I might not have access to shard skills for long stretches. And then, I might have access to certain things sporadically at some point (like if I go to a shard fall and my side does well).

    I mean, i…
  • (Quote) This will just make the game even more lopsided and dead than it already is and if you don't understand that I am just absolutely floored. Who is this new awful, horrible, terrible, clearly utterly and completely PK-driven org/circle goin…
  • Maybe! I think we should keep the orgs anyway.
  • I hope Jeremy just listens to Juran's last post (and it looks like he did). There are even more reasons we need to keep the orgs (but possibly merge a circle), but his post is a great example of why we need them. In each of the circles, there is a…
  • They will probably be effectively held by the same few people nearly all of the time. The logout thing is an attempt to mitigate that, and it hasn't worked that well in Achaea (going by ongoing, persistent threads about them).
  • Or just keep the orgs, and ditch a circle, which is how I understand what Septus has in mind. It doesn't really matter all that much if some of them are smallish, if they are allied via circle.
  • Shard fall items seem modeled after Achaea relic things - which seem to be held by the same few people at all times, and which even those few people admit can be kind of meh, because you end up non-trivially buffing the players who already always wi…
  • We need to spell out the PK rules a bit better. I know that a lot of people are reluctant to do this because of ye olden days when Achaea had infamously voluminous PK rules. Instead, we like to pretend our rules are "super simple", when they are a…
  • I have literally never seen it... Ever (in response to Khizan). Unless someone was pissed off about a swarming.

And I mean, if it were a regular occurrence I can't imagine that some of the people that came to mono fights would have kep…
  • Everyone who attacks each other at a mono fight also has "follow up" PK. Technically. It is generally poor form to hunt people down after a mono fight though (except of course the guy who is the holder if he managed to control the mono).
