So...I was just thinking, after both looking over the spiel about Shamanism and the guild list...why not toss out Vodun, give Limorasi this new demonically-charged skillset for evil Wytches, and throw together perhaps a Nature-based skillset for members of the Wytchen. Split the class into Demonic and Magick. It should have happened a long time ago (i.e. Hunter/Outrider; Assassin/Renegade). The whole Shamanism idea could easily be turned into something relating to the spirits of the Forests (in lieu of Demon Lords), and instead of bone dust, the Magickal Wytch could/would use diamonddust or something along those lines. Hopefully, more would come from this then bonedust and diamonddust, but split the two new skillsets further apart, give dusting to the Limorasi, and some form of totemic/spiritual melee skillset to the Magick Wytch.

Obviously I haven't put much thought into this, else I'd have a greater concept of what to bestow upon the Magick Wytch, but you get the gist.

Ideas? Comments?

Oh hai, I'm back.

No.

Hunter/Outrider split occured because the vast majority of them were AM at the time, but they could not remove the class from celidon without crippling it.

Renegade/Assassin occured because Magick needed toxins.

The wytchen never tried to claim they were pure magick or anything, but instead tried to fence sit and claim neutrality; they were warned, repeatedly, that they'd be forced demonic if they kept trying that, and they did not listen. Then when they were made demonic, they insisted on trying to be independent, and again, were warned about the consequences (The Limorasi charter) but instead chose to ignore it, and are now a doomed guild.

Sometimes, players have to accept that the admin have final control over what happens and that when the admin don't, other players sometimes do. I for one wouldn't want any effort wasted on a guild that utterly refused to listen to repeated warnings, especially because I get the sneaking feeling some of the Wytchen thought if Stavenn DID make a wytch guild, the admin would be somehow obliged to help them by letting them go magickal too.

In summary, the Wytchen guild dug its own grave and it is about time it admitted defeat and laid down dead already. It's nothing but a black hole in to which innocent newbies will vanish, likely to never play again, and it's a home for rejects and people who've pissed everyone off; Why in the hell would anything be done to accomodate it?

Tl;dr, let's ask them to stop the wytchen guild taking new members so it can finally die out.
Like an earthquake racing through the fault line
Silent stalkers creep
Ardor of a tangible delusion skewing what remains as real
A sinister and unexpected raid infiltrates like a thief unheard
Demarcation of coherence and delirium crumbles to the floor
Comprehension awry

Spectres had the excuse of magick needing toxins.
Outriders had the excuse of many Hunters having years of RP in AM.
Wytchen... what? Tried to fence sitting at every turn, and they wouldn't bring anything to magick. There are two nature guilds and runelore is already handled by runeguards.

Also, why would the admin create ANOTHER skillset just to let a guild live?

Whoa, don't get me wrong...I'm not trying to defend/prolong the life of despair that is the Wytchen. I mean, if no Magick cities want a Wytch/Shaman guild, that's cool. I was just saying (what with this new skillset coming to fruition), that another could be thought up to expand the game. Fk the Wytchen, create a new Wytch guild (Magick-style) with a new skillset. -That's- what I'm saying. To play a Wytch/Shaman that isn't wholly and entirely Demonic, this could lend a new side for both RP (especially the creation/founding), and PK.

God no, I can't believe I was mistaken for being a Wytchen sympathizer. I need to go kill something.

ADD: and both those reasons (for Outriders and Renegades) sound like shite. It'd be a complete dive into a new RP, not a ploy to supply the Magick circle with dolls, sticks, and cursewords. And if it isn't successful, screw it, delete it.

Imperian needs less organizations, not more.

The Hunters were the only profession that was split between circles without having any particular resource that either circle absolutely required, but this was due to the guild being so anti-magick at the time that actually giving them to AM would have destroyed Celidon's only guild. In truth, had the Hunters not been a Celidonian guild, they would have undoubtedly been AM-only.

The Wytchen went demonic because Runelore is a skillset that provides an important resource to demonic.

The Renegades went magick because without Toxins, Runeguards were...a very, very sad group of people, and the Black Market is a laughable thing.

The Wytchen do not provide a fundamental balancing resource to magick, and as such, they won't be magick. Ever.

Two of the Moon-sages classes are expected to be magickal. The Wytchen can go play one of those when they come out.

Shamanism is a new skillset.

Easy to say, hard to do. Take shamanism and be happy. You want a different skillset? Pick a different class.
