No, but seriously. The guild has been pretty quiet of late and as I've been designated Secretary of Shopkeeping and Outreach I might as well make a post. Is something in the guild keeping you from joining us? Is something out of the guild keeping you from joining us? Can it be fixed? Should it be fixed? Do you just want to argue about why Deathknights are lame and never roleplay because our roleplay devices are overpowered and do it all for us? This is the thread!

Credits, and my ability to be a good fighter as a knight. That and I enjoy playing Raini too much :(

The solution is easy! For every novice that joins the guild, Alitis will send you 50 credits!*

A question, can we solicit to novices with said recruiting posters?

Also, I think that we need to improve our novice stuff, I think honestly most the guilds in Imperian do. For that random 10% of novices that join up, instead of them being confused they need to stay, if it's their first character on their first MUD, in 10 years when they sit around with no wife, playing some other IRE game, they need to fondly recall being a nub in the Diavlous guildhall and getting that first addictive reflex from being a hardcore Deathknight.

I have some beginnings of ideas, and will have some clearly formed thoughts soon.

I don't know how the Novice program is compared to Lorekeepers and Justicars, however if you really want to play a Knight, DK's are still the best class to roll with. I know that their RP is badass, eat or be eaten, the weak don't survive ect.. But thought about tweaking the RP from that perspective to Protect and Defend Stavenn at all costs, and that way you can ease up in some areas, while promoting others? I don't really know what to say.

Really, the Diavlous have eased up in the past. There are really only two points in the advancement process where the test can kill you. The first one you can literally manual out of, the second one requires a halfway decent curing system and can be passed even by stock whytebots (aside from needing to change the calo cure from nightshade to epidermal of course) so long as you remember the lesson learned from the previous curing test.

We have advancement for both fighters and non-combatants, both of which can actually be passed without any trans-skills (though the combat part is admittedly alot harder without it). They're fairly open ended, heck for combat you are rewarded for just about everything except zergs. Things that'll get you chewed out, savagely beaten, or (and these are surprisingly rare for Alitis) killed? Failing to salute, zerging, acting like a bubbly idiot, or otherwise behaving in a manner that says 'I don't know what discipline means!'

Really, it's no harder to advance and survive as a Diavlous than it is in any other guild, and in some respects it's probably easier.

I think the problem with the Diavlous is what you see on HELP DIAVLOUS.

The Diavlous rock, no questions asked.

Nobody handles guild advancement as well as they do (Though it was better before Mallackai dumbed Trez's system down). The skills are fun, and require the minimum investment of dual trans rather than tri, possession is particularly fun and not only because of the devasting effect it has on the inexperienced. Between soulquench and vivisect you have more style variation possiblities than the other knights, and between vigour, putre and resistance you are particularly tanky against all offenses.

My name is Tek, and I approve of this guild whole heartedly. If you can't be a druid, be a Diavlous.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that alot of people, especially new ones, have been put off from the Diavlous because when they make one simple mistake(Being noobs like they are) they were typically treated like garbage in the past and killed too.

Even though it's 'RP' to play the Diavlous and Stavenn like that, don't whine about not having enough novices when people are human and simply don't want to be killed for stupid crap, or forced to kill each other for your amusement. You need to find a happy medium.

Now, I'm just speaking from what I've heard people whine to me in the past, being in charge of Stavenn when I was. Maybe you all have changed the way you do things, but my advice to you is to let more people know you have, if that's the case.

And historically I've noticed that most of the people 'in charge' in the Diavlous have been people who rarely come around, or when they are around just push people around, say 'mean' things, and then log off or another 2 weeks. It's hard to take that sort of thing seriously with anything other than annoyance and contempt.

Hit and miss, Drakov. Last person I've seen killed for something was Nearyku who was neither a Diavlous nor innocent. That said, I'm not exactly whining about a lack of novices - I know very well that it's a guild that doesn't appeal to everyone. It's a lot more of a strict environment, always has been, always will be. I'm more wondering if something is particularly poorly handled or unexpectedly blocking progress.

As far as the leadership thing, outdated information ain't no thing.

I'm just going from what I know. I admit I don't know much about it anymore, my point though is that if it hasn't changed, threads about 'Join us because we are cool' aren't going to work. But kudos to you all if you've changed things and are managing them better now. You have to remember, you didn't play Ashel for a long time while I played my Stavennite for the longest time.

I might have been tempted to join with my newest character if the Justicars weren't as awesome as they are. :P

I think I picked it though because I missed whining about how terrible Templars and Runeguards are.

I just wanted to make a parody post because all the Antiochans were doing it.

That it could be potentially useful is a side-effect.
