Torture

En sum, I need live warm bodies to subject to the Abhaen's torture device in their guildhall.
If you're looking for some RP reason for your character to [further] hate Antioch and anti-magick and the Abhaen and me, send me a message. We can work it out.
Especially if you're Antiochan/anti-magick and want to go magick/demonic with a bang, we can work out something to make all magickers sympathize with your awful plight of torture. There are many people who will find scars to be mighty attractive (or at least common). And mental trauma and agony seems popular in RP pasts.
Thanks.

While I'm all for torture RP, you probably shouldn't advertise it like this. Because you basically say, "Hey, we want people to be a part of this thoroughly overdone/not interesting RP just for the sake of RP!"
C'mon, you can do better.

No, we want people to be part of this because Abhaen torture is totally underdone and very rare when you look at their apathetic recent history. Also because
I just tossed in that "guys it fosters great pasts" because my mind found it funny to think that would be a sole reason for someone choosing to undertake this.
EDIT: Also, I'm not going to argue that torture is original, but how many can argue they've been tortured by the Abhaen? Come get your limbs torn from your body. Come get shouted at by zealots wanting you to convert. Fun.

Hey, let's not forget who gave him ye olde arm demonic
Though, as far as this thread goes, torture is one of those things you HAVE to advertise if you want to get done because, unless the player in question's consent is implied (as in, they have publicly said 'don't have to ask, if you can lock me up in the torture room just do it), it's one of those things that'll cause massive head-aches, issues, TDFs and possible shrubbing unless consent of all parties is granted.

Torture can be fine.
The problem is when torture and such becomes invasive into the RP of other characters. I have no problem with the Abhaen wanting to torture a demoner. My problem begins as soon as that tortured demoner expects me to participate somehow. The main reason I dislike the loud and invasion "OMG I AM POSSESSED BY A DEMON YOU NEED TO HELP PURIFY ME" RP is not because of the cliche, but because they expect me to get involved in their cliche and care about it. My stance on childbirth and pregnancy RP and all such things is the same, pretty much. Do whatever you want, but don't make me get involved in it somehow, and keep it behind closed doors. While I dislike it because of the cliche, I don't care if YOU enjoy the cliche so long as you do it where I don't have to be involved in it.
And, hell. Syric has tortured people before. I don't mind it at all. My problem is when the "victim" does what Cordia used to do. I swear, she was worse than Princess freaking Peach. "Hey guys, I got captured and kidnapped again, you need to come rescue me!" The worst part of that is that it only took us about ~15 minutes to move into Stavenn and roll over the defenders, and then she wouldn't cooperate in her "rescue" because she wanted it to last longer. This places us in the uncomfortable RP position of having to choose between rescuing a fellow Antiochian and Vahinite, which our RP demands, or saying "Screw RP, not today, I'm going to finish bashing up to 80 today", which is what we actually want to do this evening.
Torture all the demoners you want. I don't care, so long as you don't expect me to stage a rescue.

We can take the attitude 'if you didn't want to be tortured you shouldn't have let yourself get captured noob' and go back to bashing without breaking RP at all
EDIT: I'm also convinced princess peach gets captured so often because Bowser is giving her something Mario can't.
