I think the plan you laid out is a good one.
Give people a little something but keep focused on producing something polished and well-planned rather than rushed or half-donkied. -

The mob thing I can send a bug report on if you like. I think it only does it while following people.Did it fix the issue with following mobs adding an additional version of themselves every time you move rooms? It gets irritating quickly.
