These changes will make runeguard interesting, based on how they go. The three second hardcap on rune activation will probably make saber afflicting a bit unwieldy. Conversely, broadswords should come back in a big way.

I'm (as Eldreth can attest to) prone to influencing my characters based on movies, books and TV shows.
A lot of my inspiration right now is coming from the anime Fate/Zero which I watched with my roommates, as well as a book I picked up …I kind of feel like Malignists just need a rework, rather than trying to band-aid fix them. If you think about it, they're one of the few remaining affliction classes where the win condition is either afflict faster than healing or don't. That's not…Allow me to put metalworking layouts up in my shop so people can just customize their weapons through the shop.
