I remember that when I started playing Imperian It was all about the lore, the history of the realm and the way my character resonated with the guild’s and city’s principles. OOC Talk was reserved to ring channels or tells and anything said could OOC-ly could not have IC consequences. I just logged in after some time and I just want to know, that the hell happened Imperian? Where did we go wrong?

(Excuse the quality of the screenshots.

Rei gives the corpse of a small human baby to you.

Rei gives the corpse of a small human baby to you.

You give a horrified gasp.

Clutching her blanket, the bloodied corpse of a small baby is lying here.
<b>It weighs about 21 pounds. <-- lol</b>
You see nothing in it.

Rei shuffles her feet uneasily.

You say, "Why."

Rei Lorianis, the Equinox says, "I wasn't my fault."

Above a canopy of trees.
A spectacular view awaits one here, above the canopy of the oak trees. Beyond the immediate enclosed
area there is no safeguard against falling to the ground far, far below. A vine rope closes off a
square portion, another is positioned around the hole leading to the entryway below. Two chairs have
been placed about the hole, one has been positioned to look out over the canopy and towards Stavenn;
in the other, one can see the river, leading to the mountains beyond. Looking out over the canopy,
Igbert marks down something on a map in his left hand. Its lips pulled back in a snarl, a spectral
barghest paces in the nearby shadows. Rei stands here wreathed in scintillating flames reminiscent
of a rising phoenix. She wields a truesilver broadsword in her left hand and a wyvern-shaped shield
in her right.
You see a single exit leading down.

Rei Lorianis, the Equinox says, "Igbert wanted food."

You pace impatiently back and forth.

Rei Lorianis, the Equinox says, "But not that food, apparently."

You say, "He eats babies?"

Rei gives Igbert the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.

Rei Lorianis, the Equinox says, "Well no. That's the problem."

You say, "We will give these babies a proper burial."

Rei looks about herself, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.

Stars fill the firmament, illuminating the evening sky with a pale light.

Rei Lorianis, the Equinox says, "How?"

Wiping away a tear, Wyll holds the deceased babies close to his chest, shielding
their cold bodies away from the elements as he looks away from Rei, unable to look her in the eyes.
"I will find a place." He says, his voice shaky.

Rei eyes you suspiciously. "Well then. Do I HAVE to participate or can you take care of it in your
own?"

Wyll finally turns, glancing at Rei from the corner of his eyes. "I think you've
done enough." With that, he makes his exit.

A secluded corner of an overgrown orchard.
The softly sighing wind rustles the leaves of the overhanging trees beneath the distant sound of
running water. The scent of apples and apple blossoms fills the air with a sweetness that can almost
be tasted, while the lush carpet of green and brown cushions the tread with softness. This abandoned
orchard exudes peace with each new breath of wind. <b>Several large white oak trees form a peaceful
grove. <-- sorry to the grove owner, now you have ghost babies</b>
You see exits leading northeast and northwest.

Wyll carefully wraps each baby in their blankets and places their cold, lifeless
body on the ground before he begins to dig small graves. He digs two side by side so that the babies
will have each other in their final resting places. As he stands up from the digging, he walks over
to the river and washes his dirty, dirt-caked paws and then returns to the babies. He carries each
one carefully, sniffling as he places them into their graves. He bows his head, eyes closing as
tears stream down his cheek and muzzle. Finally, he buries them, making sure the area looks
undisturbed so that they can rest peacefully. <span>"I will bring you flowers, little ones. Rest in peace.

So we were just minding our own business at the Shuk when Osilpe decided to attack me. I killed her after giving warnings but hey, I've got mixed feelings about this mostly because I am being contested right now. A part of me feels like issuing because this is looks so much like a setup and some f-ed up metagaming ish may be going on here, a part of me just wants to leave Antioch. What are your thoughts on this?

Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden snarls angrily at you and moves in for the kill.

Antioch Shuk.

You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, and northwest.

You narrow your eyes at Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden in an unnerving manner.

Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden withdraws a sharply curved shell from the folds of her robe and sweeps it across your mid-section, slicing your gut open.

You say to Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden, "What is wrong with you?"

In a flash of annoyance, Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden runs the edge of a sharpened shell across your face, blinding you with your own blood.

This young lamiran maiden has a noble bearing and proud features. Her skin is tinged with blues of every shade, from aqua to rich sapphire that deepens to a lush purple around her limbs. Her head is ridged with pearlescent scales that glisten pink and gold. She wears a simple robe of white, belted at her waist with a rope of pearls. Her features bear the freshness of her youth, but they show more strength than beauty.

Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden seems strong and confident.

It weighs about 150 pounds.

You see nothing in it.

Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden removes the rope of pearls from her waist and wraps it around your neck to choke you.

You say to Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden, "This is your last warning."

In a flash of annoyance, Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden runs the edge of a sharpened shell across your face, blinding you with your own blood.

You step in quickly with a slash across Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden's torso.

You have scored a surprisingly effective hit!

Damage dealt: 159 Remaining: 0.00%

The final blow is too much, you have slain Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden.

You pick up the corpse.

You quickly flow into the Ein-Fasit stance.

Balance Taken: 2.00s

You shake your head sadly.

Bina, the blind narrows her eyes at you in an unnerving manner.

Bina, the blind says to you, "I hope you didn't just do what I think you did..."

You say to Bina, the blind, "She attacked me first. I simply defended myself."

Bina, the blind turns to look in the direction where Osilpe once was, her face turned up in disgust, as if she can sense the maiden's absence.

Bina, the blind says to you, "How noble of you."

You give the corpse of Osilpe, the Lamiran maiden to Bina, the blind.

Bina, the blind spits in your face.

Bina, the blind returns to her position nearby in the Shuk, scowling miserably.

You shrug helplessly.

You mutter, "The blind hag must o. ..nt crazy wh.. .hey kidnapped he.."

Kamaylie's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon smiles and says, "Hello!"

You flash Kamaylie a joyous smile.

Bina, the blind says to you, "I'm sorry, boy, please speak up."

Bina, the blind says to you, "I'm not sure everyone here heard you call me a hag."

You say to Bina, the blind, "As I am sure everyone saw you spit in my face."

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "You murdered her!"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon asks you, "Did you really call her a hag?"

Kamaylie blinks.

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says, "What just happened?"

You say to Bina, the blind, "She attacked me?"

Bina, the blind exclaims to Kamaylie, "This crazy fool murdered Osilpe, right here in the city!"

Kamaylie creases her brow in a frown.

You say, "I have witnesses. I gave Osilpe three warnings before I did so."

Mehmed nods his head in agreement.

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to you, "You should know by now that we do not attack our own."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to Bina, the blind, "Do you know why she attacked him?"

You say to Kamaylie, "Our own shouldn't attack us either."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to you, "Violence doesn't solve anything."

Bina, the blind says to Kamaylie, "I'm sure he provoked her somehow! Obviously I didn't -see- it. I just heard the boy shouting some crazy warnings to her."

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "You can't just do as you please here! We have laws!"

You say to Kamaylie, "Tell that to Osilpe."

Sir Mehmed Ashtear, the Brave says, "Maybe she was sharpening her shell on his Stone body."

You say to Bina, the blind, "Of course we do. Have I ever laid my hands on you? Was I not present when we rescued you from Kinsarmar?"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to you, "There must have been a reason. I'll need to speak to her."

You nod your head.

You say, "Please do."

You say, "She just walked in here and decided to attack me."

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "That's preposterous!"

You say, "I gave her three warnings and then, well... she perished."

Mehmed points accusingly at a bucket.

You say, "She kicked the bucket."

You nod your acknowledgement of Mehmed.

Bina, the blind exclaims to Kamaylie, "He must have done something to her, I know it!"

You give a pained sigh.

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "This isn't a joke, you CHILD!"

You say to Bina, the blind, "It isn't."

You say to Bina, the blind, "I am not joking."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says, "Are you sure it isn't that...you walked in and...Osilpe is always here, she's not one who likes to leave Bina on her own and I think he prefers the Shuk to most places..."

You say to Bina, the blind, "Just because we both live within the confines of these walls does notmean that I will hesitate to slit anyone's throat if I am attacked. We should all have the right to self defense."

Kamaylie blinks.

An elite Justicar of the Shah says to Kamaylie, "My apologies, Farah, but my men and I did not observe this attack. Our attention was drawn elsewhere at the time."

Bina, the blind says, "Oh, just wonderful! The only witness alive is blind. Poor Osilpe..."

Bina, the blind wrings her hands in nervous anxiety.

You say to Kamaylie, "And for some reason, after a while, she just decided to attack me."

You say to Bina, the blind, "Actually, you are forgetting about Mehmed and Verrex."

You say to Bina, the blind, "They have been present the entire time."

Verrex says, "I've been standing here the whole time."

You say to Bina, the blind, "And they are not blind."

Bina, the blind says to Verrex, "And so what did you see?"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to you, "That's not how we do things here. We don't attack our own. When issues arise, better leave if you want to use force to retaliate, tell us and we deal with it."

You purse your lips in contemplation, examining Kamaylie with intent.

Verrex says to Bina, the blind, "Dhali standing here with Mehmed and myself. Out of no where She attacked him. He gave his warnings. Then defended himself."

You say to Kamaylie, "I gave warnings. Please let's not exaggerate on this. What is this madness?"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says, "Looks like Osilpe needs to explain herself upon her return from Dis."

Kamaylie gives you a nod of acknowledgement.

Bina, the blind exclaims, "IF she returns! You never know! That might have been her last breath!"

Sir Mehmed Ashtear, the Brave says to Bina, the blind, "She started beating him with her shell and choking him with her pearls out of nowhere. he gave his warnings, but she didn?t listen."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to Bina, the blind, "It's not the first time...do not be worried Bina, she will return to us safe and sound I am sure. Probably upset though..."

Verrex says to Kamaylie, "Please I do not mean to sound rude but we are not allowed to defend ourselves from an attack from one of our own?"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to Verrex, "Because that usually only escalate things further."

Bina, the blind exclaims to Kamaylie, "She wouldn't have just started attacking him for no reason! She wouldn't!"

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says, "Citizens are not to bring harm to each other, it is part of our tenets and laws."

You say, "I am starting to be concerned."

Verrex says, "Yeah this is almost looking like a setup here."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to Verrex, "Does that mean I would bring charges on someone defending themself...highly doubt it. From what we currently know, it appears proper warnings were given, and something just went awfully wrong."

Bina, the blind snorts arrogantly at Verrex.

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says, "Let's not speculate."

Bina, the blind says, "A setup? Yes, the blind old woman and the young maiden are working together to set up a boy for murder."

Bina, the blind throws her hands up in frustration, muttering and murmuring something vulgar under her breath.

Verrex says to Bina, the blind, "Why not? With how you are acting right now? Getting hostile on a witness?"

Bina, the blind whirls around, somehow fixating her glass eyes directly upon the spot where something stands.

You say, "A boy."

You say, "Perhaps not."

Verrex says to Bina, the blind, "She did just attack a man who just standing here minding his own business."

You say, "But a Grand Master who is currently in the middle of an election."

You look about yourself, rubbing your chin thoughtfully.

Bina, the blind says to Bina, the blind, "I don't care who you are! I have -socks- older than you."

Kamaylie Pyralis, Radiant Beacon says to you, "Well hm...when we consider your age, compared to mine or Bina's..."

Bina, the blind exclaims to Bina, the blind, "If anything, such a -man- shouldn't be guilty of murdering other people on the streets!"

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "It doesn't speak to the nature of the Axioun that a Grand Master would do such a thing in the first place!"

You say, "What? Defend himself?"

Bina, the blind says to you, "Can't you restrain yourself? Walk away? Allow time for things to cool down?"

Bina, the blind exclaims to you, "Do you kill -everything- that upsets you?!"

Verrex says to Bina, the blind, "There is a difference between something upsetting him and something ATTACKING him."

You shake your head at Verrex.

You say to Verrex, "I am starting to believe there's no point."

Bina, the blind exclaims to Verrex, "Yes. A young woman attacked the Grand Master and his only possible recourse was violence. Can you imagine if she had scratched his face? The HORROR!"

You say to Bina, the blind, "Does it matter whether it was a woman or a man?"

Bina, the blind says to you, "You just don't have any morals at all, do you?"

You say to Bina, the blind, "I evidently do.
I know I'm not the only person out there that has thought about this. One thing I feel Imperian lacks right now is a story. Something to move us along our path and give us something to do aside from grinding out dailies, PKing at shardfalls and caravans, and the occasional fishing trip... and if you are lucky a chance to RP and develop your character with someone.

So my question to you all is thus, if you were the story teller of Imperian right now, what would you want to do to open up more chances for an actual story and RP events to take place?

I get that currently the community is really small, but that doesn't mean that we can't have some fun stories to enjoy while we play.

We will have regular prizes for events and participation, so you don't have to win to get something. We will also have events that "level the field" a bit more so that newbies and the un-artifacted will have just as much chance of winning as anyone else.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the event as we've had a few people working to put it together.

- Dec
Is it the random environment messages that fire off every few minutes? Is it the scope and diversity of denizens and their interactivity? Is it the may that the map looks, or the layout and structure of the rooms? Room descriptions? Items or features in the rooms?

This is just an open discussion that I'm inviting all of you to participate in!

I've also met a Divine who RP'd with me. Said RP was short but super. It's the first time I've ever RP'd directly with a Divine before on any IRE game, so wow.

Thank you to these folks for reaching out to me and being awesome in my general direction.
Title says it all. If you have a description of something that's nifty, neat, or think people would like to see as a reference throw it up.

a blistered leechwood tree
Formed from the fused lengths of numerous arm-thick ropes of red-black fiber, the eldritch form of the leechwood tree rises far out of sight into the sky above. The wood of the tree pulses slowly, drawing energy into itself from the collection of root structures trailing out of its base. A rhythmic thrumming noise is audible, emanating from the heart of the tree. With each powerful vibration, a burst of evolution can be seen in the leaves and root base. Along the surface of the wood, various open sores have formed, leaking a grey-blue sap tinged with red that shimmers as it runs down the length of the tree. A small depression can be seen beneath one of the lower hanging branches, the interior darker than the deepest night. The leaves of the tree, abundant in the high overhead near the canopy, are a stark ghost white, run through with veins of the same grey-blue that leaks from the sores evident along its trunk. Various leaves have also become infused with a ruddy, sanguineous shade. A dark veil surrounds the tree, giving the perception of perpetual night.

Woodlings
This odd little creature appears to be flakes and strips of bark come to life. The woodling is tiny, allowing it to hide easily in the knots and burls of trees.

Olanre
She is a radiant Diabolus. Her gracile form holds a harrowing, tumultuous beauty. The ashen skin of her body is speckled with roughened ligneous patches that resemble the bark of the Leechwood. Her slender legs taper into contorted roots, perpetually seeking purchase within the soil beneath them. Olanre's arms are twisted and bent in unnatural positions, akin to the warped and crooked branches of the Tree. A cluster of stark white blue-veined leaves sprout from her shoulders forming an impressive mantle that frames her face. She is crowned with a wreath of scarlet blossoms that surround her with an earthy, green resinous fragrance. Her face is sharply angled, with deep arboraceous hollows and crags. A sanguine light rises from the depths of smoldering, angled eyes both radiant and terrible to behold.

Rynar the shadow
A
mass of shadows surround the majority of this wraith lord. His black hair blends
in with the darkness around him, and his bright white eyes peer out to observe
his surroundings. Simple clothes cover what the shadows don't, but what little
flesh is exposed appears to be melting, giving way to the bones beneath. A
scythe is grasped within his grip, readily available to strike down his foes.

(why are these the Gods I have descriptions of? Jesus)
Zanik
He is a radiant Immortal. He is standing before you in an innate regal dignity. For the sake of mortal kind's ability to fathom Him, He has chosen to manifest Himself in the form of a flawless Sylayan. Like all elves, His features are sharp and suave. Framing His face whisps of sleek, silken black hair have been left somewhat tousled to give Him character. Like the backdrop of a starless midnight sky His hair cascades down over His poised shoulders and back, leaving something to be desired. As sure as a full moon contrasts such a sky, two pensive golden hues glitter in contrast with an unspoken wisdom. Tawny skin blankets His form and complexion, seemingly poured over Him like liquid bronze. Angular, pointed ears are often tuned in on some unheard discussion, finding mortality intriguing. Taut shoulders slope smoothly down into strong arms and firm hands, in which He grasps a walking stick. Adorning His feet are a pair of simple sandals, often times left to the side so that He may more fully enjoy the feel of the warm sand or plush grasses beneath Him. He is wearing long and flowing robes of golden yellow silk, a white gold chain necklace adorned with a glowing topaz key, and a topaz-set knot-work ring.

Malkav
He is a radiant Immortal. He is shimmering in and out of perspective reality. You try to focus upon Him but His face keeps morphing from one appearance to the the next, causing your mind to boggle to such extremities that you are occasionally forced to look away. One could easily be driven into insanity just by merely staring at Him for too long. He is wearing a ring of pestilence, a Helm of Auspex, a pair of knee-high leather boots, a Girdle of Dementation, a ring, a pocketbelt, a Sash of Malkav, a silver-hued rose, a necklace of purity, a leather falconry glove, an obsidan collar, a pair of gauntlets, and a pair of sleek, black leather trousers. He wields glowing strands of flowing primal chaosin His left hand and The Rapier of Comedy in His right.

Nemesis
She is a radiant Immortal. She is wreathed in a corona of interwoven shadow and liquid flame. Her angular face is as beautiful as it is cruel, the freezing beauty of merciless power reflected in every line of Her features. Her tilted eyes burn with a steady crimson flame, no pupil nor iris visible within the raging inferno of Her gaze. Her flame-coloured hair tumbles freely over Her shoulders, its pulsing strands resembling the flows of lava around the shadowed nimbus of Her form. The aura of shadow and flame dances about Her powerful, graceful silhouette, flowing over her midnight skin in a coruscating whirlwind of energy. Behind Her, draconic wings spread out in an ominous, looming shadow, their edges tipped with blackened steel claws. She is wearing the Quiver of Flame, a pair of stony gauntlets inscribed with odd symbols, and Bracers of War.

Eloweth
She is a radiant Immortal. Taking the form of a tall, formidable woman clothed for battle, She stands veiled in swirling particles of energy. Her visage, untouched by mortal cares, is pale in perfection and as luminescent as the moon called Aryana. Her hair is an inconstant colour, shifting in cool variations of Moradeim's ever-changing hues. Dark are Her eyes, their black and scarlet depths speaking to the terror of Sukhder and the power with which She holds Her gaze. Three conjoined moons glint from a heavy chain around Her neck, one a white gold, another a dark iron, and the last of brass.

Epiphany
She is a radiant Immortal. Her form is perpetually enveloped by a vibrant nimbus of rich sapphire blue. Despite possessing the visage of an eternal maiden, Her brilliant blue eyes are bright and clear, the Wisdom of the Ages reflected within them. Her long blonde curls have been gathered back in an intricate plait, a few snowy white ringlets mingling with the golden locks to belie her otherwise youthful appearance. A bright blue and white columbine flower winds around the base of Her braids, the twisted strands draped over Her shoulder and continuing down nearly to Her waist. A perfect white lily rests on Her hip, attached to a gold chain that loops around Her waist. Where She stands, the colours are more intense and brilliant than those of the surrounding area.

Cassiopeia
She is a radiant Immortal. She is surrounded in a veil of Night that obscures the finer details of Her features. Tiny spheres of starlight hover around Her being, their incandescent lights twinkling as they move gracefully to form the various constellations. Her bountiful glossy black hair flows wildly in long curls behind Her and seems to stretch across the sky. Her eyes are large and almond shaped, suffused with the sapphire luminescence of the stars. She is wearing a necklace made of star sapphire gems, a crown made from motes of starlight, a simple sapphire velvet gown, a pair of sapphire embroidered slippers, a sapphire star circlet, an engraved silver ring, and a star-shaped mark.

I was using the forums' search function to find all the ambient messages for all the assembly things (by the way, does anyone have a list?) when I found this post somehow:

Sarrius said:

I hate watching a circle sink further and further towards total obscurity and irrelevance, hearing how they are bailing out from that circle like rats from a sinking ship, and here we are still talking about how the 'remaining two circles need to consolidate'.

We need consolidation, but more and more I'm thinking we just need to delete a side. Seriously, it's time for me to repost this because it has been a page, but I am still watching this circle bleed fighters, participation, and engagement.. and it is not entirely their fault.

Game's scope is too large for its population. Can't support three circles. Can we do something about this sooner rather than later?

Edit: I am begging you to even delete MY side. I don't care. Something needs to give. It's nuts.

I was intrigued, because at the time that was posted, Demonic was dead in the water. AM/Antioch/@Septus was king (I think?). Now, though, the tables turned in a big way. Khandava/Demonic is still pretty small, but I think we have a high participation rate for the population we do have. We're doing caravans when we can, grabbing leylines, doing obelisks, even raiding a couple of times. Kinsarmar is, of course, still Top Dog (shakefist @Galt, @Owyn, and the rest!), but even AM (mostly Ithaqua, shout out to @Nilo, but I also see @Kamaylie here and there) is coming out to trade a few shots with us.

It just goes to show that having a three-sided conflict can work. Note, I've played before in Achaea and Lusternia, and I'm going to be basing my thoughts on my experiences from those two games, plus Imperian.

The biggest issue with The Organizations (the three Circles, and individually the councils and the cities) right now is, I think, the hard focus on AM-Magick-Demonic. It does two things:

It stifles the individual organizations (Antioch/Ithaqua, Kinsarmar/Celidon) from having their own unique identity, since their Circle affiliation takes precedence, and

It forcibly splits the Circle into two separate organizations, thus decreasing the population density for both.

Now, one might argue that guilds do the same thing. What's different about guilds is that, for example, Silvari and Stormweavers can still interact closely under the Celidon umbrella, where they have a common channel, help scrolls, and organization structures. In fact, I'd even say that's the reason why Circle RTs have become such a big part of Imperian (and not in a good way) -- not only can you discuss OOC mechanics there (and thus it becomes a place of general chatter), but you can bring in "the whole team", too.

More importantly, having bland, identity-less organizations has a subtle but very real effect on retention. Organizations are what anchor people into the game. It's how we feel like we're part of The Story. Take Achaea, for example, with its six cities. Four of those can be considered main factions, and each of those has a very unique identity that separates them from the others. In Imperian, I guess what the developers had envisioned was to consolidate things into just the 3 Circles. But from my observation, this was done in an incomplete way. For example, Kinsarmar and Celidon were both put in the Magick Circle. A lot of conflict systems were made Circle-based, but little was done to actually make Kinsarmar and Celidon feel like they're One Team.

Right now, Imperian is ripe and ready for a change in direction. I think the opportunity should be taken to decide which way The Organizations go. Will we double down on Circles? If so, steps should be taken to further integrate Antioch and Ithaqua under AM, and Kinsarmar and Celidon under Magick. Circles should be The Organizations, and the cities/councils should be like the guilds.

Or will we relax the hard stance on Circles, and revert focus on the individual cities and councils? If so, players and godmins together need to work on/redesign/reinvigorate their unique identities, since the cities and councils will be The Organizations that hook players into feeling like they're part of The Story, and thus stick around.

I think org. deletion should be the absolute last option, since, as empirical evidence shows, organizations can bounce back. Stavenn Forever!

In this example, you roll a 3, netting you 5+3 for an 8. We'll say knitting at a five is an awful hat, whereas a fifteen would be the most impressive hat anyone has ever wanted: at an eight, you make a perfectly mediocre hat. It is chartruese.
See me for details."

(Idras): You say, "Hmm?"

(Idras): Rokas says, "Actual artwork of the Feyn?"

(Idras): Anarys says, "Indeed."

(Idras): Theophilus says, "Do we receive any insight into what it might artwork of?"

(Idras): You say, "Gore splattered."

(Idras): Theophilus says, "Might be."

(Idras): Anarys says, "The Feyn will discuss his artwork in great detail, actually."

(Idras): Ozreas says, "She's being facetious."

(Idras): Theophilus says, "Oh.. Pfft. I can splatter gore."

(Idras): Theophilus says, "I see."

(Idras): Anarys says, "The Dis I am."

(Idras): Anarys says, "Someone is paying me for this mess."

(Idras): Anarys says, "You're going to give a lecture on it. It'll be great."

(Idras): Ozreas says, "Do any of you know how to get spleen stains out of white pine?"

(Idras): You say, "She's unhappy it's right outside the phantom."

(Idras): You say, "Or in the shop."

(Idras): You say, "... you flooded the shop?"

You begin to steadily swim east.

Phantom's Legacy. (inside). [lost]

This area is unnaturally flooded with water. This has been marked as holy ground. Gore is splattered about, a display of Ozreas's cruel handiwork. Riatan is here, swirling multi-color light whipping about his form. Ozreas al-Hamasa is here, a vibrant red hue emanating from his form. He wields a cerulean-inscribed stygian flintlock in his right hand. Anarys Aureluht is here, hidden. She wields a sewing needle in her left hand and a banded shield in her right. You see a sign here instructing you that WARES is the command to see what is for sale.

You see exits leading west, and a square trapdoor leads down (closed door).

i: d (door)

You see the following people here:

Riatan, Anarys, Ozreas

You purse your lips contemplatively.

(Idras): Anarys says, "... He's not good at cleaning."

Anarys Aureluht says to you, "Sovereigns, please."

Anarys gives you a shifty little smile.

Riatan says to you, "Why, hello."

You ask Ozreas, "Is that your own spleen?"

(Idras): Ozreas says, "Well, yes. Generally the more water you throw at a mess the more likely it is to go away."

You incline your head toward Riatan respectfully.

(Idras): Theophilus says, "I recommend a mixture of saltpetre and vinegar. Maybe a splash of Sukhder's Suicide."

(Idras): Ozreas says, "Really. How have you lived so long without learning these things."

You say to Anarys, "I conned an entity out of 50,000gp. I'm not paying you 2,000 to see what shenanigans my brother has caused."

Anarys Aureluht says to you, "It's for the lecture, really."

Riatan says, "The exhibit tour is very thorough."

Anarys Aureluht says to you, "He has something -very- interesting to say about my liver being plastered to a shelf over there."

You snicker softly to yourself.

You open a wyvernskin pack.

You get 2000 gold sovereigns from a wyvernskin pack.

You give 2000 gold sovereigns to Anarys.

Anarys gives a confident thumbs-up.

You say to Anarys, "Just because I like you, half-elf."

You say to Riatan, "And how are you? Your brother not-threatened to disperse the constellations on me."

(Idras): Anarys says, "No one else interested? It'll be great. Hopefully."

(Idras): Anarys says, "At this time, it's important to mention, no refunds."

Riatan asks you, "Hm. Which one?"

Riatan says to you, "I am pondering the nature of 'masks'."

Dryly, you say to Riatan, "Kavar."

You reach up and release the clasp holding your mask in place, and reveal your face.

Ozreas Clears his throat, standing up a bit straighter before droning in a voice as hollow as a drinking vessel, "Here you will observe the fortunes of the next thirty-seven Prophets of Khandava foretold in the intestines of a wayward, elf, as is the tradition of the Ka'me-tunga tribe of the western isles since..." He continues for a while, his voice slowly blending with the snowfall beyond the shop.

The fell rays of Sukhder illuminate the room in obsidian and crimson as Theophilus, riding a giggling mongoose named Vesper, appears.

(Idras): Rokas says, "Definitely not interested."

A soft light radiates from Theophilus as he flaps his wings lightly, allowing him to hover just above the ground.

Theophilus inclines his head respectfully.

A cerulean-streaked white lioness's eyes flash dangerously as a low growl rumbles forth from her chest in warning.

Ranger Theophilus Aracelia, The Glorious says to Ozreas, "Erm.. whose blood?"

Anarys wordlessly points a finger at herself.

The elemental waters seep into the ground leaving the room damp, but no longer flooded.

Theophilus ponders the situation.

You have emoted: Alesud presses her lips together in a tight, thin line as she wades through the little remaining water toward one of the white pine shelves coated in gore.

Theophilus pokes Anarys in the belly.

Ranger Theophilus Aracelia, The Glorious says to Anarys, "You seem to be in tact."

Riatan asks Ozreas, "Is haruspicy practiced in Ithaqua?"

Anarys lets out a surprised squeak.

Ranger Theophilus Aracelia, The Glorious says to Riatan, "I think the Cephyreid has some spicy food."

"Though it is important to note," Ozreas adds, tone as flat and emotionless as before, "that this does not imply any further secessions to follow, but the spray of the liver was obstructed by this shelf, so it is impossible to tell if the tissues portend that the disputes of her reign will 'be ended by her heir' or 'get tangled in her hair'." After waxing philosophical regarding similar matters for quite a while, he shrugs at Riatan.

Theophilus nods sagely.

Ranger Theophilus Aracelia, The Glorious says, "I see what I've just hovered into now."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says to Riatan, "I find it is easier to read the past in a things innards than the future, but one thing is always certain."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "If you're not careful, you'll end up in more shit than you intended."

A weary groan emanates from Riatan's nebulous form.

Jabbing Theophilus lightly with her elbow, Anarys demands quietly, "Two thousand sovereigns, please. You ARE watching an artist discussing his work, you know."

Anarys issues a patient sigh towards Ozreas.

Theophilus's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Theophilus opens a wyvernskin pack.

Theophilus gets some gold sovereigns from a wyvernskin pack.

Theophilus gives some gold sovereigns to Anarys.

Ranger Theophilus Aracelia, The Glorious says to Anarys, "Well worth it. I must, however, depart for now."

Theophilus inclines his head respectfully.

"Farewell," Theophilus says, raising a hand fondly.

Theophilus lifts his head upwards, growing very still as he gazes upon some unseen spot.

A beam of raw energy bursts from Sukhder and envelops Theophilus, riding a giggling mongoose named Vesper, before he disappears.

Ozreas sighs softly, nodding his head.

Ozreas al-Hamasa frowns and says to Riatan, "You're right. Perhaps not my best work, that last one."

Anarys absently squirrels the coins away from this pocket to that pouch, though she casts another absent glower at Ozreas.

Anarys Aureluht says to Ozreas, "You still owe me sixteen thousand sovereigns."

Riatan says to Ozreas, "It was otherwise gut-wrenching discourse, I promise."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "Though I am slow to believe it to truly be so, I am going to take that as a compliment."

Ozreas opens a blood-stained pouch.

Ozreas closes a blood-stained pouch.

Ozreas shrugs helplessly.

Riatan says, "Art that is evocative of something, anything, is successful."

Riatan says, "So, I suppose so."

Anarys Aureluht frowns and says to Ozreas, "That's including the discount for the assumed gathering of Astris' fingerbones."

Ozreas nods slowly.

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "I see. It is at this point perhaps best that I admit..."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "I'm not really sure what I'm being charged for?"

You say, "And yet you pay anyways."

Anarys opens a blood-stained pouch.

Anarys closes a blood-stained pouch.

Dimitri arrives from the west.

Dimitri peers about himself unscrupulously.

Ozreas points a cerulean-inscribed stygian flintlock at Dimitri.

Riatan says to Dimitri, "Ah, Dimitri Driftlin."

Dimitri points a sapping charge at Ozreas.

"Two thousand sovereigns for the viewing, please," Anarys pipes up at his entrance, holding a palm out before Dimitri.

Anarys looks at Dimitri hopefully.

Dimitri stares at Anarys blankly, unable to comprehend what she just said.

Anarys nudges Dimitri suggestively.

Dimitri Driftlin says, "What's a 'sovereign'?"

You peer at Dimitri unscrupulously.

Anarys Aureluht says to Dimitri, "Sovereigns, as in the little tokens made of gold that I can spend."

You say to Anarys, "He's so poor that he doesn't even know the word."

Dimitri Driftlin says, "Oh -coins-."

Anarys Aureluht frowns and says to Dimitri, "If you pay me in false currency, I will stab you."

You snicker softly to yourself.

Anarys squints suspiciously at you.

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "The little gold ones with Aisling on them."

Dimitri Driftlin says, "I have designed fake currency. get your own market."

Anarys Aureluht says to you, "You should outsource to Driftlin enterprises."

You say to Dimitri, "Have you conned Kavar out of gold with yours?"

Anarys Aureluht looks thoughtful and says, "Oh, that's fair."

You clear your throat in an attempt to gain the attention of those around you.

Dimitri Driftlin says, "I'm not exactly keen on the idea of conning metaphysical entities

out of anything. Bad investment."

You say, "Not 'conned'. It was a fair bet."

"Uh-huh," Anarys says skeptically.

Riatan says to Dimitri, "Very wise."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "I'll confess."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "If he'd said I could toss the coin, I would have responded with "I wager I will not toss the coin.""

Anarys Aureluht says to Riatan, "To be fair, fifty thousand sovereigns versus an 'undetermined favour' is a bad deal."

Dimitri purses his lips contemplatively.

Anarys Aureluht says to Dimitri, "It's a bargain at two thousand sovereigns. You can tell your friends you saw -art- by Ozreas al-Hamasa. Be vague about it. Pretend it was -really- impressive, so they'll pay me too."

You say to Ozreas, "This is why we get into trouble."

Ozreas shrugs helplessly at you.

Riatan says to Anarys, "It needs a title."

Dimitri Driftlin says to Anarys, "This is onner them... slippery slopes things. I start giving you money for this, you'll show up on my doorstep in Pol'pera asking that I pay you for breathing your air."

Dimitri Driftlin says to Anarys, "This is onner them... slippery slopes things. I start giving you money for this, you'll show up on my doorstep in Pol'pera asking that I pay you for breathing your air."

Anarys Aureluht looks thoughtful and says to Riatan, "Oh, art does, doesn't it?"

Riatan says to Anarys, "Ozreas al-Hamasa's 'Anatomy'."

Riatan says to Anarys, "Simple. One word. Mysterious."

Anarys Aureluht looks thoughtful and says to Riatan, "And accurate."

Dimitri Driftlin says, "'Spatter'"

Loud slurred voices break out into a vulgar tune followed by a terrible crash.

Anarys moves her attention about the mess before frowning, "... More or less."

You say to Riatan, "The Inner-workings of a half-elf."

Dimitri Driftlin says to Ozreas, "The hell did you use anyway."

Dimitri Driftlin says, "I mean beyond Anarys'... everything."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "Mmm."

Riatan asks you, "'Half Elf: Quartered'?"

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "Two strong hands and a dash of creativity."

Dimitri raises an eyebrow questioningly.

You say to Riatan, "More to the point. Less mysterious."

Riatan says, "Ah yes. The mystique is important for the market view."

You say to Riatan, "So I'm told."

Dimitri tilts his head curiously.

Anarys nudges Dimitri suggestively.

Dimitri Driftlin mutters, "Pretty .... that's a p..ce of skull ...edd.. in the ceili..."

Ozreas al-Hamasa says, "'Anatomy' seems like the most marketable name thus far, in my expert artiste's opinion."

Anarys Aureluht says, "I've already called it Anatomy to Evelene, so we're committed."

I'm really excited that RP is being pushed for right now. It's fantastic. That being said, I have some questions about this Apparition/Goggles event, because not much info has been provided. Kavar has said that the Rashirmir is thinning, and the spirit world is essentially leaking into ours. We get the goggles so we can see these apparitions, and then..we're just supposed to start slaughtering them and using their spectral bodies to protect our cities?

Why does he feel we need to protect the cities? What have the apparitions done that merits just outright killing them? What are we defending against?

All we have are harmless spirits that creepily stare at you and then move on.

The only reasoning behind this so far is: Because Kavar said so.

@celosyi @zenigra @olorina @anita @thoregg @luthyr @ellarynth @theophilus

tl;dr The mass of hornets that is Celosyi is consumed by the altar of the Cult of the Unpspeakable Shouted. She then urges each member present to gaze into the mirror to reveal their true form. Celosyi emerges from the mirror in her own true form and attaches to the Cult.

Six flat slabs of obsidian stand embedded in the ground here, facing inward. Each taller and broader than an adult Xiur, they stand in a circle with barely enough space between each pair for an adult to squeeze through. They stand towering and slanted slightly toward the middle of the circle where stands a mirror two-thirds their size. Plain and unadorned, this mirror is entirely unremarkable but for the fact that the obsidian slabs around it block out all background, all distractions. When one stands within the circle and gazes within the mirror, they see only themselves, as they really are.

Zenigra sucks thoughtfully on his teeth.

Olorina purses her lips contemplatively.

His expression portraying intrigue and excitement, Theophilus walks slowly to the altar of the Cult of the Unspeakable Shouted and steps within the circle of obsidian pillars that form it. He reaches out to place his fingertips gently upon the glass of the large mirror resting directly in front of him. It wavers slightly as he makes contact with the reflective material and he appears mesmerized. His eyes widen and his pupils expand significantly as he looks upon his own reflection. His lips curve upwards into a slight smile as he continues to gaze into the mirror for quite some time, his head tilted slightly to one side and his visage demonstrating utter bewilderment.

Theophilus shakes his head gently and begins to regain his senses. He turns around with his back to the mirror in order to face his accompaniment. His pupils have returned to their normal proportions but his irises are visibly brighter as he asks with excitement, "Did you see?!", urgently demanding response.

Luthyr Lokrien says, "You were pleased with what you saw?"

Luthyr raises an eyebrow questioningly.

Celosyi appears out of thin air.

Pressing the tips of his fingers one to the other in a steeple at the center of his breast, Luthyr bows to Celosyi in respect.

Zenigra gives a slight shake of his head as he pulls a black leather hood away from his face.

Zenigra nods his head at Celosyi politely.

Celosyi asks, "Yes, Imperator?"

Celosyi says, "Greetings."

Olorina curtseys respectfully before Celosyi.

Ellarynth curtseys respectfully before Celosyi.

Thoregg waves at Celosyi.

Theophilus takes a few steps out of the circle of obsidian pillars and toward Celosyi. "Come and see," he says enigmatically, as he beckons for Celosyi to step past him and into the circle of obsidian pillars.

Celosyi hovers closely to the altar, the mass of hornets buzzing incessantly as they swarm it with relentless intent. You notice several hornets ricocheting off the obsidian slabs as if disoriented, causing them to swarm more viciously around in circles.

Thoregg chuckles in anticipation.

The hornets slowly fly above the altar, their tiny bodies combined amassing a surprising amount of heat as they hover in place. Slowly, they lower towards the altar, the buzzing noises echoing off the obsidian slabs in small groups, once more uniting in front of the blackened mirror that gleams ominously in the darkness.

Celosyi says, "Alright, what am I loo-."

Without warning, your vision goes black as the altar is consumed in an abyss of darkness, your thoughts and emotions ripped viciously from your mind. The sensation of falling wells in the pit of your stomach and though you are unable to move, an endless barrage of thoughts consumed with being utterly lost for eternity within the void.

Slowly, timid motes of light catch in your peripheral vision, a strange mixture of dark rainbow-hued colors trickling subtly into view. You find yourself able to blink and with each fleeting moment your thoughts begin to return, the motes of light shimmering brighter as time seems to drag on. With a blinding flash of indigo light, you find yourself standing at the altar, disoriented and dizzy. Scattered carelessly around the mirror, which appears completely normal, are the tiny forms of crushed and splattered hornets piled upon each other, the occasional flicker catching your eye as a wing twitches its final twitch as it comes to terms with death.

Theophilus walks more closely to the altar, hornets crunching beneath his feet.

You say, "What just happened?"

You tilt your head and listen intently.

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says, "What the-?"

Olorina rubs her eyes, blinking rapidly as she takes in the scene before her.

Luthyr gently picks up a tiny hornet body, examining the recent death.

Luthyr Lokrien says to you, "Imperator, what have you done?"

Anita purses her lips contemplatively.

Theophilus places his hand upon an obsidian pillar and says, "I didn't do it..."

You give the altar of the Cult of the Unspeakable Shouted the once-over, eyeing it suspiciously.

Thoregg looks befuddled "Weird.. I can't sense Celosyi's Aura."

Zenigra leans heavily against his cane and waits.

Luthyr closes his eyes.

Luthyr Lokrien says, "I don't sense any spatial anomalies in the area."

Zenigra says simply, "Perhaps that which she saw, needed the swarm no longer."

Luthyr Lokrien says, "I do not understand where she could have gone..."

Theophilus perks his ears as he stares at the altar of the Cult of the Unspeakable Shouted. An obsidian-plated hound begins to growl menacingly.

Olorina slowly lifts her gaze to the altar.

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says, "Perhaps she was consumed by the creature in the mirror. My reflection tried to eat me."

Luthyr Lokrien says to Thoregg, "Sounds like you have something to work out with yourself."

Lord Zenigra Tru'ithe, Facet of the Broken Whole says to Thoregg, "Or perhaps it's your true self, fighting to be heard."

Luthyr Lokrien says to you, "Was the shock too great for Her?"

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Olorina. Come to the mirror. Gaze into the abyss."

Theophilus shifts his gaze to Olorina. "Well..."

Luthyr begins to intensify slowly until he appears flesh and blood once more.

Straightening her back, Olorina steps forward, reaching out her hand toward the glossy surface of the mirror.

The wind whips around you before dispersing near Luthyr.

Theophilus takes several steps back from the mirror as he eyes Olorina carefully. "Do you see anything?"

The surface of the mirror ripples, quiet whispers passing between them.

A slow smile spreading across her features, Olorina nods. "It was glorious," she whispers, stepping away from the altar to stand beside the Imperator.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Zenigra. Step forward. Gaze into the abyss."

Theophilus wraps his arm around Olorina as he glances toward Zenigra.

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says to Zenigra, "Your turn."

Zenigra steps forward, grey eyes staring into the Altar's mirrors impassively.

Zenigra steps back, a subtle slow blink betraying an acknowledgment as he joins Theophilus and Olorina .

The mirror ripples, a splash of blood spraying to coat the ground before it.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Thoregg. Face your fate. Gaze into the abyss."

You urge Thoregg onwards.

Thoregg smirks turns into a horror as his name is announced. He walks to the mirror with mixed feelings and kneels before, staining his leather trousers in blood. He then looks deep inside the mirror.

A chilling cackle reverberates from within the mirror, tapering off into hollow silence.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Anita, come before Us. Gaze into the abyss."

Thoregg scampers off to Theophilus.

Anita walks over to the altar, gazing into the mirror. staring intently into something shecan't quite understand.

You pat Thoregg in a friendly manner.

Anita nods slowly, stepping slowly away from the altar.

The surface of the mirror stills, its reflection darkening with shadows before it begins to ripple again slowly.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Luthyr. Forward. Gaze into the abyss."

Wariness apparent on his face, Luthyr slowly walks into the ring of obsidian to stand before the mirror. Before gazing up into his reflection, he places his hand upon an old brand as if recalling old memories and lessons learned long ago. Finally bringing his eyesto bare upon his own true self revealed, an aura of contentment seems to radiate from him and a look of acceptance grows upon his face.

Nodding to himself, Luthyr slowly backs away from the mirror.

Luthyr smiles knowingly.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Ellarynth. Gaze into the abyss."

Pressing her lips together tightly, Ellarynth lifts the hem of her gown slightly as she she approaches the reflective surface. She quickly glances at everyone else before gazing into the mirror before her.

You tilt your head and listen intently to Ellarynth.

Ellarynth's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Come, Imperator. We have much to discuss. Gaze into the abyss."

Theophilus nods and eagerly steps forth to glance into the mirror once

more. His facial features shift into a display of bewilderment as quickly as his feet have planted. He reaches out to grasp the edge of the mirror with his hand as he brings his face closer to its reflective surface, his eyes starry and bright.

As Theophilus peers into the mirror, its surface ripples like a disturbed lake, misty tendrils oozing out of it to swirl around his hand in a tender embrace. Without warning, the mist solidifies into a lanky feminine arm of what appears to be solid obsidian, which fluidly latches onto him, fingers digging relentlessly into his flesh. It pulls him forward until his entire hand is submerged into the mirror, leaving no trace of the hand that pulled him there.

As you reach into the mirror, albeit without your consent, the fiery grip of fingers digging into your hand turns to a sudden chill, causing an icy breath to shiver down your spine. Your hand is stuck within the mirror, its rippling surface crashing against your hand like an angry ocean tide. She relaxes her grip slightly, though you are unable to remove your hand. The voice of Celosyi echoes through you, as if surging forward from deep within the abyss, threatening to mow you over if it weren’t for her grip on you. I will show you what I saw, Theophilus. Look.

Theophilus is taken by surprise and gasps for air as if suffocating as he turns his head away from the mirror for a pause. He suddenly shivers as his hand remains stuck within the glass, forcing the surface of the mirror to ripple violently. He murmurs,"Please dont pull me in with you. I am not ready."

Racking your body with the abyssal, distorted echoes of her voice, which seem to be originating from within the mirror, Celosyi says, "Look, and tell me what you see."

Slowly forces his head to turn back to face the mirror before opening his eyes to gaze. Enthralled and speaking in a chant-like voice, Theophilus says, "I see a volcano. I see a great lake. I see a hive surging with hornets.

Theophilus tilts his head curiously to one side and says, "The hive has just fallen and it is now toppling down the surface of the volcano." He carefully observes the visions within the mirror, seemingly confused by its meaning. He continues, "The hive has come to a rest. Hornets are flying out of it en masse. They appear threatened."

Thoregg is pondering whether or not to invoke a small fire to cause disturbance.

His eyes half-lidded, Theophilus' lips quirk into a smile and he nods to demonstrate understanding. "I see a swirling aura of raw energy surrounding the hive. It looks as if it arises from a pool of pure Diachaim. The hornets are attempting to flee but, alas, they cannot." He beams broadly as he declares, "I see you, Celosyi. I see you being born."

Theophilus shakes his head as if to clear his mind. He eagerly searches the mirror for meaning as another vision materializes in the mirror as quickly as the former has dissipated. Theophilus becomes enthralled once more by a second set of images. He looks with bright eyes upon the glass surface, though his mind peers into the depths of the mirror in amazement.

Celosyi's voice drawls, "What do you see now?"

Pausing for a moment before opening his mouth, Theophilus says, "I see..."

Ellarynth, Luthyr, Olorina, Thoregg, and Zenigra follow you to the ether.

The Abyss.

Icy waters swirl chaotically around you.

There are no obvious exits.

You are transported by the will of a powerful entity.

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says, "What is this place?"

Olorina peers around her, eyes wide with wonder.

Confusion passes over the face of Singularity, Lady Ellarynth Lokrien Nessaja, Mistress of Death as she fades from view.

The image of a ghostly apparition blurs, fading to a green nebula as he vanishes to the ether.

Confusion passes over the face of Lord Zenigra Tru'ithe, Facet of the Broken Whole as he fades from view.

Confusion passes over the face of Olorina Val'Sidos, the Red Queen as she fades from view.

Confusion passes over the face of Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg as he fades from view..

"This favoured son of the Imperium stands tall at an even six feet in height, the firm-boned contours of his frame held with an amalgam of pride and militaristic poise to lend an illusion that he is a touch taller than true measure would prove. He moves with an innate litheness, the cold grace of elvish blood composing the motions of his form, while in rest the elf stands with the impeccable posture of one familiar with military service. Compelled of a toned musculature, his complexion is pallid in its execution, bone-white hide beneath which only subtle hints of blue evidence he yet holds breath and life. His mien bears the hallmarks of aristocracy, as if to hearken to an ancient nobility - a countenance comparable only to those depicted within the hallowed halls of the Iron Cathedral. Neatly kept, his hair boasts dark and earthen tinctures--it is simply styled, kept short and brushed toward the centre to crest atop his skull. Whilst the weight is heavy, he does not seem burdened by the circlet of crimson stehl that crowns his head. The keen line of his slanted ears remains prominent, a constant reminder of his elven lineage. His stare holds pupils that are fully dilated, his irises a mere ring of iron around them, their hue as the tempestuous reaches of a storm-ridden sky. He smiles from time to time, revealing very straight but sharp, white teeth."

Celosyi gives the robes of the Imperator to you.

You are now wearing the robes of the Imperator.

You are transported by the will of a powerful entity.

Celosyi appears out of thin air.

Theophilus emerges from the mirror unscathed as hornets crunch satisfyingly underfoot, hand-in-hand with an unknown feminine figure whom you can only presume to be Celosyi. They stand upright with graceful form before you, backs turned upon their origin of the mirror. It no longer ripples but remains a calm sea of glass. A range of emotions graces the features of Theophilus ranging from excitement to confidence, intrigue to satisfaction. He sweeps his eyes slowly across his accompaniment and you notice that his physical features have been altered significantly along with his attire.

Zenigra turns his gaze to the figure standing next to Theophilus, unrecognized physically.

Thoregg points his finger imperiously at the two warily "Demons or really the Imperator and Celosyi?"

Luthyr Lokrien says, "What has returned to us, the reflections or the true?"

Singularity, Lady Ellarynth Lokrien Nessaja, Mistress of Death says, "Rebirth."

Luthyr Lokrien says, "Or perhaps something new and forged stronger than before?"

Lord Zenigra Tru'ithe, Facet of the Broken Whole says to Luthyr, "What makes the two mutually exclusive?"

A hollow embrace wraps around your form, threatening to crush you with the weight of the very abyss itself. The weight lifts as you feel Celosyi become one with your cult.

Confidently, you say, "The true. Welcome Celosyi as the new entity of the Cult of the Unspeakable."

Olorina's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

She is a radiant entity. Both small and feminine in form, this gracile Entity boasts penumbral flesh of the deepest black, its tincture hearkening to the benighted heart of a churning abyss. Slender, her frail body is veiled beneath the heavy contours of a hooded cloak, its shimmering material cascading around her to hide all but fleeting glimpses of her form from view. The adornment grasps at the light, reflecting the realm around in it a magnificent display of prismatic colour. Beneath her resplendent accouterment, this shard of the Divine is consumed in entropy. Unclad beneath her cloak, what glimpses can be seen of her shadowed physique are unclear, transient in definition. While oft her body is but the elegant silhouette of a young woman, there are moments that lead the imagination to eldritch horror - a visage split by ravening eyes flashes open to reveal where shadowy tentacles writhe, hornets creeping and crawling between the eye sockets, before dissipating into insubstantial haze, only to be replaced by the transcendent countenance of a blushing maiden. Though the deep hood of her cloak conceals much of her sable features, her mirrored eyes seem to stare not at, but through, any whom fixate upon her, her glassine oculars reflecting their gaze eerily as her own.

Celosyi glances down, before peering at those gathered around the altar. Her motions are fluid and graceful, as though the notion of finally having a body is not foreign to her. "Ah, this will do, Imperator. This will do."

Theophilus releases his grip from Celosyi and walks to join the rest of his accompaniment. He places a friendly arm around Thoregg as he admires the new form of Celosyi.

Celosyi says, "You are free to discuss what I've shown you, but it is also yours to keep. That decision is yours to make."

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says, "Quite outstanding result."

Olorina Val'Sidos, the Red Queen says, "Indeed. Impressive."

Acolyte of Shadows, Thoregg says, "I thought she died."

You say, "I do not know what you may have seen in the mirror, but I know what I saw... and it was ineffable. If you find the words to express it, I would love to hear it in the near future."

You say, "Shall we return to the city?"

Luthyr Lokrien says to Celosyi, "Thank You for joining us and honoring us with those visions."

Celosyi gazes at you, her reflective eyes mirroring his own as she grins cheekily, her countenance that of a young woman. "You will find the words in time, Imperator."

Celosyi says, "I must suggest a visit to your courtyard. I do recall visiting it once, and being unable to eat or drink that fineries at your disposal. Let us enjoy the splendor of the Unspeakable Shouted?"

Your eyes sparkle with amusement.

"I suppose now that you have a form besides being a mass of hornets, you can eat and drink even if only for pleasure?"

Hey!

I think we need a new, separate topic for this. There has been situations where people doesn't know when to issue or when to not. Please, let us know what is the situation here and what is solved in an instant. All that information if precious for us since we have new players that might not know all the Imperian's rules. If there's no issues, tell us why something should be issued or not issued. I hope this will give us the general way what to do with issues or not. Thank you for the co-operation.

For the week of October 9-15th, Viotre, Master of the Skeleton Games will be hosting a week of events! We will be handling prizes a little differently this time, so read carefully!

In an effort to allow more players in various time zones a chance to participate, we will be testing a scheduling system for the week. What that means is there will be little to no announcement as to the places of players while a game proceeds, or a large announcement at the end as to who placed. All of the participants will be logged, which Elokia and Hexe will review as they're able. Prizes will be distributed sometime after a game has concluded, but rest assured you -will- receive a prize if you place!

Randomized prizes unique to these events will be handed out to players who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd within any event. There is an exception to this, however! Those who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Bait the Frog games will receive an exclusive frog mount to call their own! Please be aware you can only win one frog during the week of events! If you participate in multiple bait the frog games and place in each, you will still only receive one frog for your efforts!

Among the prizes will be a special tameable fairy, a vanity pet, a special mug, and an item that gives you a custom enter/exit message.

The schedule will be as follows:

Day One: Sunday, October 9, 2016

0:00 - Bloodbath

4:00 - Pumpkin Hunt

8:00 - Bait the Frog

12:00 - Warzone

16:00 - TeamFFA

24:00 - Shadow Lovers

Hi! I'm new to imperian. I've read the history, and I have a vague vision of my character's arc, but I'm not sure how to make it a living plot that I can persue every time I play. Does anyone have any character development tips? Thanks! Also, how can I find out about the part of history that would've affected my life as a child? Thanks, be well!

As promised, I'll be posting some little interactions from the Sect of Jackals here.

We have had a great time interacting with Somerled.

Check back for updates!

---------------------

A merry tune whistling from his lips, a pale boy saunters in.

Caelya Talmarian, the Slitherer says to Somerled, "Ah, Somerled! This is our newest member, Thundin."

Somerled blinks widely and then peers at Thundin with utmost curiosity. "Hi," the little boy exclaims excitedly.

Thundin greets Somerled with a sincere smile.

Caelya Talmarian, the Slitherer says to Thundin, "Thundin, this is Somerled. He's an accomplished adventurer and a junior member of the Jackals."

Somerled wrinkles his nose and demands, "Whaddya mean junior member?"

Thundin says, "My pleasure!"

Caelya remarks to Somerled simply, "You're little."

Somerled puffs up his chest and exclaims indignantly, "So're you!"

Somerled crosses his arms in a huff.

Crossing his arms over his chest, Etienne states, "Perhaps I shall promote him."

Caelya drops to all fours and slithers over to Somerled, quickly drawing back up to her full height. She gazes quietly at the boy for a long moment with her double-lidded, inky black gaze, and frowns. "Someone measure us."

Somerled peers at Caelya and then turns to press his back to hers. "I'm taller," the boy announces loudly.

Somerled exclaims to Thundin, "Aren't I!"

Thundin says, "Yes, a bit."

Thundin says, "At least you're still growing."

Somerled dances in place for a moment and then lets out a loud whoop of excitement.

Caelya flares her nostrils again, little trails of smoke drifting out as she presses adamantly back against Somerled. Her glowing tail absently swats at his legs when he starts dancing about.

Thundin utters a deep, rumbling laugh.

Somerled yelps in surprise as his leg is hit, his arms spreading widely to retain his balance. Wrinkling his nose, he shoots Caelya a dirty look and then declares to Thundin, "I'm a FULL Jackal member and I like you. So welcome!"

Etienne ponders Thundin with a sidelong look, a smirk curling the corner of his mouth. He states idly to Caelya, "I suppose that does make him a full member of the Jackals. Perhaps lead adventurer, as thou oft have him running about in search of things."

Thundin flashes Somerled a joyous smile.

Somerled looks to Etienne in wonder for a moment and then brightens, his head nodding excitedly.

You look thoughtfully at Somerled's profile, pondering the situation.

You walk west.

Sweat flies from your brow as you smith a sturdy shortsword and quench it in a bucket of water.

You take a sturdy shortsword from a sturdy iron forge.

You walk east.

Caelbrook looks about herself suspiciously.

This slim boy stands no taller than a child of ten winters, his lean body possessed of a deathly pallor when beheld within the light. A tumultuous mess of cherubic curls frames his youthful, timeless features; a second glance firmly reveals his state of undeath. Serving to accentuate the mischievous quirk of his mouth, his wide autumnal eyes are beholden of the same tinctures of a marigold in full blossom, their warm hues touched with the faintest hint of scarlet. A pair of leather trousers embroidered with gold-shot red leaves around the hems clothes his small waist.
Somerled has an air of extreme strength.

Caelya casts Somerled a dirty look and slithers back over to a choleric alabaster axolotl named Surbal. "Lead adventurer sounds fine, I suppose." She fixes you with a bemused stare. "You are, after all, our glorious leader. Such things are yours to decide."

Somerled claps his hands together in delight.

Etienne takes a shortsword from its scabbard and offers it to Somerled hilt-first. He states lowly, "Thou should have a blade if she has thou running about. Do not cut thineself."

Caelbrook blinks.

Caelbrook Riversaide says to you, "I hope you intend to show him how to use that."

You raise an eyebrow at Caelbrook.

Somerled stills as he looks at Etienne in wonder, his eyes widening immeasurably. He squeaks in delight and reaches out for the weapon, grasping it by the hilt. With a few practice swings, the boy then lets out a gleeful whoop.

You say to Caelbrook, "He shall figure it out or he shan't."

Caelbrook Riversaide looks skeptical and says to you, "You tell him not to cut himself, but don't intend to instruct him?"

Somerled exclaims, "You swing a sword and don't hit yourself!"

With a snort, you say, "It's not that hard."

Somerled exclaims, "I can do that!"

Somerled exclaims to you, "Thank you!"

You say to Caelbrook, "I had a sword younger. If thou cut thineself once, thou learn not to do it a second time."

Caelbrook purses her lips, eyeing you quietly. "I suppose if you managed not to behead yourself, there must be some truth to that," she says, smiling.

You smirk at Caelbrook.

Somerled darts over to Etienne and gives him a sharp hug before bolting off into the distance, his whoops resonating through the forest.

Caelya stares implacably about herself.

Caelbrook Riversaide smiles impishly and says, "Aww, now I will admit that was cute."

Etienne peers in the direction that Somerled left, an odd look about him. He shakes his wings out a bit, holding them to his back once more, and then inspects his clothing briefly.

Caelbrook Riversaide says to you, "I promise, you will not wither and die from the contact."

With the storyline event supposedly starting soon, I figured I would take this time to say a few things about my feelings on the direction of Imperian and its storyline events.

One of my major problems with the way events and storyline have gone lately in this game is that we are continually faced with situations in which there are only two options. The first option is something so Chaotically Evil that only Skeletor would ever think it was a good idea, and the second option is "Let's stop Skeletor!". Hell, we don't even get a reason why we would want to do those things, really. It's like you just assumed that one side would be evil for the sake of being evil. We get things like "Let's kidnap kids and feed them to a Necromancer" and "Let's unleash Legion's plagues" or "Let's help Alekmanhala". We get some vague promise of ultimate power if we help them, but we know we'll never get it and the best we can hope for is that we get some good dialogue during the inevitable betrayal.

And what's more, every single one of these Chaotic Evil options ends up being demonically/necromantically driven in some way. You went out of your way to make this three-faction setup in Imperian and in all the time I have played this game, there has been ONE global-scale event that I can recall where Magick was the root cause(introduction of stehl smithing). There have been ZERO events where AM was the evil guy. More than a decade down the road from Imperian starting and it is like you're still trapped in the ancient Achaean mindset of "Mhaldor and Sartan are behind everything bad." It's like you are going "Well, Templars and Priests are obviously good guys" and it's so frustrating.

Demonic doesn't want to be the cliche bad guys, but you keep running events that cast necromancers and demonologists as Chaotic Evil cacklers. Anti-magick would love to be bad guys, but you keep tacitly casting us as the good guys when you keep making the bad guys our classical enemies. If you would cast us as the zealots burning people at the stake or as the Crusades or as the Whitecloaks we'd be all over that and we'd be anti-magick as hell. But every single event seems to consist of a demonic antagonist with us as the opposition, which is such awful design lately.

Demonic wants to be reasonable good guys and has seemingly no desire whatsoever to be a cackling Saturday morning cartoon villain(with the possible exception of Mathiaus, though I think he'd rather be a villain on Dexter. Maybe the "Eye Scream Man".) On the other hand, Antioch wants nothing more than violence, chaos, destruction, and good one-liners. We'll take any fight at any odds and we're more than willing to go down with a sinking ship while screaming "we'll get you next time!". We'd be perfect villains. But for some reason you seem to be set on demonic always being the bad guy and us always being the good guy.

Why? Why do you do this every time? I know you guys are upset with the way AM doesn't actually care about being AM anymore, but this is largely because you keep casting AM in boring roles, in situations where sticking to that role would mean the event was "entire world teams up for bashing event, yay!". You don't need to change up the definition of AM or get weird with the technicalities of power sources to get AM back in role as being actively against magick. I mean, you know we're kill-happy berserkers, and you know that we'll ignore RP to go with the killiest side. And you know that demonic doesn't want to be a pack of Chaotic Evil cacklers anymore. If you'd just switch things up and run events where AM was Skeletor and demonic got to be He-Man for a change, everybody would be so much happier.

I think both sides end up in a kind of limbo where we're not sure if we can take a break from the bashing or if we're still behind, etc etc. Alternatively updates every hour so its not a precise thing might work too, if obscuration is desired there.

ALL HAIL LEGION!

An ancient and oversized tome stands upon a regally decorated pedestal here. Lying on the ground, a dirk fashioned from an elk's antler has been left here. The dead body of a Tazi archer has been nailed brutally to the point of a rigid, black cross. There are 3 hazeward stones here. There are 2 elegant white letters here. A massive, sparkling wheel hovers here, a bejeweled arrow pointing straight up from the middle of the wheel. A magnificent flag, emblazoned with the crest of the Empire ripples regally from the columns of the gates. A silver lined letter rests here. A silver plaque with a gold trim and embellished with the crest of Stavenn is permanently planted in front of the gates. A short, stone basin rests upon a pedestal here filled with blood. A pike with the decapitated head of Dreacor has been erected. Sodden mane tangled in wild reeds and cattails, a kelpie stallion lurks here with baleful opalescent eyes. An irate ebon filly stands here on gangly legs, her ears pinned back in a comical yet annoyed manner. An elite Diavlous Knight is manning a netthrower here. He has ninety-seven nets. A pallid stallion stands here idly. A vicious smoke-blue stallion stands here, pawing and stomping ferociously at the ground. There are 2 ravenous hounds here. With a wild look in his eye, a feral paint stallion stands heatedly here as he stomps and paces recklessly. A small black cobra is flaring its hood here. Blazing, wrathful eyes glare through a blackened, scorched chamfron featuring several spikes protruding from the helm. Muscles rippling beneath its ebon coat, a massive shire stands here poised and alert. Enormous azure eyes seemingly following you, a carnivorous obsidian spider prowls the area. Casting a tyranical shadow, a massive two-headed condor gives all a sinister, regal gaze. A massive groomed black stallion stands here proudly, its large form covered in silver battle armour. Calmly gazing upon her surroundings with ice blue eyes, a healthy white mare stands here upon strong legs. A resplendent celestial hovers nearby in stoic silence, exuding a lambent glow. The undead form of Magistrate Onaedan Lokrien is here, listening intently. He wields a Fleshrender battleaxe in his left hand and a lunar shield in his right. The undead form of Sir Delra Aracelia, Keeper's Apprentice is here. He is holding a buckler in his left hand. The undead form of Aeorden Zaridiux is here. He wields a strong broadsword in his left hand and a mithril shield in his right. Unfinished trenches have been dug at this location, with wires lying all around.

You see exits leading west, and the ominous gates of Stavenn lie to the east (gate open).

Aeorden gives you a nod of acknowledgement.

You give Aeorden a slow nod.

Aeorden removes a horned veritum helmet.

Aeorden gives a horned veritum helmet to you.

Aeorden removes a crystehl armband of the Suns.

Aeorden gives a crystehl armband of the Suns to you.

Almost exclusively made out of veritum, this piece of metalworking seems to be made by a master metalworker. Layered plates of veritum form the main protection, offering excellent defense against any assault as well as reflecting any available light, giving it the semblance of shining whenever a light source touches its surface. Made to fit a kohdon's skull, it stretches out from the front, covering both jaws in a layer of veritum. At the sides where the jaws connect, a hinge moves the helmet whenever the jaw moves, allowing free speech without difficulty. Stehl fangs have been attached to the sides, making it so that any bite wounds inflicted when the helmet is worn are at least doubled in size. On the top of the helmet, various horns are visible: one on the nose, curving backwards slightly, and two on top of the helmet, above where the eyes would be, the curved horns extending forward. An intricate layer of decorative engravings have been added to the helmet, flowing in a beautiful pattern from top to bottom.

It has 59 months of usefulness left.

It weighs about 20 pounds.

A small crafter's mark indicates that the customisation was by Aeorden's design.

It bears the distinctive mark of Aeorden.

You have emoted: Iniar looks over a horned veritum helmet slowly, nodding quietly as he examines the quality of the armour.

Balance Taken: 1.10s

You give a horned veritum helmet to Aeorden.

You open the bevor of your plate helm.

Rasping, you say, "That is fine work, Mr. Zaridiux."

You quickly close the bevor of your plate helm.

Aeorden puts on a horned veritum helmet.

Aeorden nods his head.

Gesturing with his hands, Aeorden Zaridiux says, "The armband, too."

This armband has seemingly been made out of one smooth ingot of crystehl. Any light that hits the surface seems to make it shimmer with the colours of the rainbow, a natural property of the legendary metal used to fashion the armband. Seven gems have been cut and polished reverently, set in a circular fashion with the most methodical precision. Boasting a large sapphire in the center, a diamond, emerald, ruby, obsidian, granite and an orb of pure gold surround it in a circle, each representing a different sun. Tiny cracks are visible around the emerald, and the surface of the gem itself seems dull and unreflective. Small lines of devout prayer flow around the surface of the armband, beseeching the Lord of the Suns to protect anyone who might be wearing it.

It has 66 months of usefulness left.

It weighs 5 ounces.

This will occupy the armband clothing slot.

You give a crystehl armband of the Suns to Aeorden.

Aeorden puts on a crystehl armband of the Suns.

You open the bevor of your plate helm.

Rasping, you say, "Thirty percent."

You quickly close the bevor of your plate helm.

Aeorden's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Aeorden Zaridiux says, "You drive a hard bargain, sir."

You open the bevor of your plate helm.

Rasping, you say, "I am a hard man."

You quickly close the bevor of your plate helm.

You open the bevor of your plate helm.

Rasping, you laughingly say, "Or so they say."

You quickly close the bevor of your plate helm.

Aeorden ponders a bit more before extending his claw and nodding. That'd be good."

You open the bevor of your plate helm.

Rasping, you say, "Excellent."

You quickly close the bevor of your plate helm.

You have emoted: Iniar offers Aeorden a large paw in a handshake, a wry smile on his face. "Hopefully this will be a good partnership."

Balance Taken: 1.10s

Aeorden wags his tail behind him and nods, grasping your paw with his claw. "Indeed. I'm sure it will be."
