Imperian Forums: Forum Rules

General Rules

1. Personal attacks are not allowed.

A personal attack is something that insults or is in any way derogatory towards a person, entity, or organization. Be civil and respectful. If there's any way that something you want to post could be perceived as insulting, don't post it! If you really want to insult other players, volunteers, or members of Imperian's Administration, go somewhere else.

2. The appropriate use of the Forums

The forums are not the appropriate medium for petitions to the administration on punishments, for complaining about administrative or godly conduct, for complaining about Imperian development, or for debating administrative or moderator decisions. Communication on these subjects should be directed through the appropriate channels found at Imperian Support.

3. Imperian discussion only.

These forums are provided to Imperian's players as a place to talk about Imperian. Any discussions about real-life politics or religion are strictly banned. There are many other forums on the internet for talking about other games, politics, religion or topics of a sexual nature. Use them instead.

4. No hate speech.

Anyone that insults people based on their race, gender, sex, sexual preference, religion, culture, or country of origin, or threatens them explicitly or implicitly is not allowed and may result in an immediate ban. This includes both fellow forum members and your fellow human beings in general. Put in plain terms, if you want to sound like you belong in the KKK, do it elsewhere.

5. Watch your language.

Self-explanatory. If you're not sure whether the swearing you're about to do violates this rule, just assume it does. This includes modifications of words or using symbols to omit letters in words. Furthermore, hacker-speak ((l33t h8x0r, lol11111l1l1l1, OMFGBBQ, etc) is strictly banned.

6. No posting of, or posting of links to, anything that violates someone's copyright or involves stolen intellectual property.

This includes pirated music, software, artwork/literature for which you do not have the creator's permission, and so on.

7. No advertisements.

The following are not allowed and are considered advertisements:

- Outwars / Outwars-clone link spamming / hit farming.
- Link spamming.
- Posts about or links to other MUDs or games.

8. No pornography.

This includes but may not be limited to pornography, sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal. This covers ASCII porn, MUDsex logs, and links to pornography.

9. No posting confidential materials.

This includes but is not limited to:

- Private information about other players, information about alternate characters.
- Any type of non-public documentation including, but not limited to, non-disclosure agreements and information about Iron Realms employees or volunteers .
- Posts made on non-public newsboards in-game.
- Issues filed in-game.
- In-game communication, unless you know for a fact that all participants in the communication approve of the posting of that communication. This include channel logs, organizational logs, messages, tells, etc.

10. No impersonating.

Do not use a name on the board that is a character in Imperian unless you are the owner of that character. Do not attempt to impersonate or embody organizations, mobs, or any other entity that exists in Imperian.

Signature, Titles, and Avatar Rules

Your avatar or signature may not contain the following:

- Explicit sexual images.
- Links to porn or warez.
- Racially offensive or offensive in any way.
- Anything that violates any other forum rules.

Warning system

The warning bar below your avatar picture is the system used to punish infractions of the forum rules.

The warning system guidelines are:

10% warning level is a 7 day suspension
20% gets you 30 days
30% and over is a permanent ban from the forums.

Intent will be evaluated when determining the length of your suspension. If you're posting something in clear violation of these rules with the intent of being suspended, we will happily oblige you by permanently suspending you from the forums.

People who have been suspended from the forums are not allowed to use the forums in any way. Creating another account will result in a permanent ban from the forums and will get your characters in Imperian shrubbed. If you post on behalf of someone who is not allowed to use the forums, you will be subject to the same consequences explained above.
